A Day of Giving and Unity
A DAY OF GIVING AND UNITY: May 4th and 5th, 2021
Join us for the second annual Day of Giving and Unity and support OUR LOCAL NONPROFITS that MAKE OUR COMMUNITIES THE PLACE WE WANT TO LIVE, WORK, AND PLAY!
WHY ARE WE HOLDING A DAY OF GIVING AND UNITY?
MOST NONPROFITS STRUGGLE TO RAISE OPERATING DOLLARS TO SUPPORT THEIR PROGRAMS EACH YEAR. VERY FEW ARE IMMUNE TO THIS NEED. BY OFFERING NONPROFITS THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DAY OF GIVING AND UNITY, IT HELPS NONPROFITS MOUNT A FUNDRAISING EVENT AT NO COST. BY WORKING TOGETHER TO COLLECTIVELY RAISE FUNDS AND HELP DONORS GIVE BY MAKING IT EASY AND FUN, WE ARE ABLE TO HELP NONPROFITS MEET THEIR OPERATING NEEDS WITHOUT HAVING TO ADD YET ANOTHER FUNDRAISING AUCTION, DINNER, ETC. WHILE AN AUCTION EVENT CAN BE FUN, IT IS COSTLY TO ORGANIZE. A DAY OF GIVING AND UNITY MAKES ALL GIFTS REALLY COUNT NO MATTER THE SIZE. GIVING TOGETHER WE WILL MAKE BIGGER IMPACT FOR OUR COMMUNITIES!
The second annual Day of Giving and Unity will be held May 4 and 5, 2021. The 28-hour campaign will open May 4th at 8 a.m. and close May 5th at Noon. We anticipate more than 80 nonprofits in the 20201 campaign. Nonprofits that raise $2,000 or more during the campaign will receive a matching grant of $1,000 from Whitefish Community Foundation.
Glacier Bank, First Interstate Bank, and Park Side Credit Union will be accepting donations on May 4th and 5th at all locations throughout Flathead County and Eureka. Donors can also drop off gifts at the Whitefish Community Foundation office in Whitefish.
In 2020, Whitefish Community Foundation and Flathead Community Foundation pulled together to make this campaign a far-reaching success, raising over $500,000 for 78 participating charities.
Whitefish Community Foundation will host a webinar for participating charities on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 9:30 a.m.
The campaign is free for participating charities. Whitefish Community Foundation will organize the campaign including advertising and marketing, and process all of the gifts. Nonprofits located in the Flathead Valley and Eureka are invited to apply for participation. Application opens March 1. (Nonprofits that want to be included in the advertising material must apply by April 15.) Application to participate closes April 30 at 4 p.m.

On the day of the campaign, donors can give to many charities at once with just one gift. All they need to track is one tax receipt. Once the campaign ends on May 5th, WCF will work to calculate any credit card fees that were not covered by the donors, reconcile the gifts, create statements, and send out grants by ACH to nonprofits. We anticipate we can accomplish this by the 30th of May if not before.
There is no fee to participate. 100% of the donation will go to the designated nonprofits minus the credit card fees for the incoming gift, unless the donor selects to cover the credit card fee.
WCF will send you a statement of all the gifts designated to your organization. The statement will include the amount of the gift donated and the address of the donor.
No, WCF is receiving the donation and we will send the tax receipt. When the campaign is over you are highly encouraged to send a written thank you note to all of your donors.
