About the Challenge

The Great Fish Community Challenge is a summer fundraising campaign from August 11 - September 11 that inspires community-wide giving and builds awareness about the critical work of Flathead Valley nonprofits. Since 2015, the Great Fish Community Challenge has raised $43 million for 103 Flathead Valley nonprofits!

Great Fish Launch Party on August 11

Join us Tuesday, August 11 from 5:00 - 7:30 p.m. at Glacier Bank Park to kick off this year's Great Fish Community Challenge. Enjoy free food and beverages while meeting all of the participating nonprofits. We'll raffle off five $1,000 grants to the participating nonprofits of your choice.

Simplify and Multiply Your Gift

The easiest way to support Flathead Valley nonprofits.

Donating is simple and impactful. With one transaction, you can support multiple nonprofits and receive a single tax receipt. There are no fees or overhead—100% of your gift goes directly to the nonprofits you select. Whitefish Community Foundation covers all administrative costs of the Challenge, and donors can give with a credit card, check, appreciated stock, a charitable distribution from their IRA, private foundation, or from a Donor Advised Fund. 

When you give through the Great Fish Community Challenge, your gift goes further with a percentage matching grant from Whitefish Community Foundation on $25,000 raised by each nonprofit.
